Course Outline
This course introduces Metapsychoanalysis as a transformative tool for personal and social development, aiming to break traditional psychoanalytic paradigms. By integrating UPD – Universal Pedagogy of Diversity, the course positions psychoanalysis as not only a clinical and theoretical field, but also as a pedagogical and therapeutic practice with the capacity to support diverse and vulnerable populations. This includes refugees, immigrants, marginalized groups, educators, and anyone engaged in inclusive educational or healing practices.
The course emphasizes a co-dependent relationship between teacher and student, where both are seen as seekers of knowledge, healing, and belonging. It provides emotional support, critical pedagogy, and fosters the courage to generate new research horizons through reflective practice and embodied learning.
Course Objectives
This course introduces the Metapsychoanalytical Manifest as a critical and generative expansion of classical psychoanalysis. It does not reject traditional psychoanalytic processes, but honors and extends them, adding essential dimensions to the social psychodrama and emotional atmosphere present within educational contexts. It explores psychoanalysis as a pedagogical, therapeutic, and cultural force, deepening our understanding of identity, power, and human interaction in the learning space.
Participants will be guided to:
Introduce and critically engage with the Metapsychoanalytical Manifest, understanding how it challenges and extends classical psychoanalysis in both theory and practice.
Integrate UPD (Universal Pedagogy of Diversity) as a compassionate, inclusive, and dynamic learning framework for diverse populations and learning settings.
Explore the social psyche through psychoanalytical, historical, and cultural lenses, bringing psychoanalysis into dialogue with education, migration, gender, and identity.
Understand the therapeutic potential of the teacher-student relationship, where both sides become co-learners and co-healers within a relational, supportive dynamic.
Apply principles of critical pedagogy to promote inclusion, social justice, and transformative educational practices, empowering students as creators of new knowledge.
Provide emotional and intellectual tools for those working with displaced or marginalized individuals—including refugees, immigrants, at-risk youth, and non-traditional learners—by fostering spaces of healing, dialogue, and critical reflection.
Who Is This Course For?
This course is especially designed for:
Educators and teachers working in multicultural or emotionally complex settings.
Therapists, psychologists, and psychoanalysts interested in the pedagogical dimensions of their practice.
Social workers and community organizers working with marginalized or displaced populations
Refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers seeking to understand their identity and culture through psychoanalysis.
Researchers and graduate students in psychology, pedagogy, cultural studies, or the humanities.
Seekers in tune with self-awareness, personal reflection, and committed to social, educational, and cultural transformation.

Course Practicalities
The Psychoanalysis & Self-Awareness course subject is structured across twenty-seven components, offering a total of fifty-seven (57) Formal CPD credits, combining lectures and self-directed study.
This subject includes seven (7) hours of theoretical lectures. The practical component is optional, giving you the freedom to engage at your own pace and according to your personal interests.
Some of the lectures are delivered through online webinars for students enrolled in the online programme. If you are part of the in-person (presential) programme, your class timetable will be provided directly to you.
Engaging in this course will allow you to grow and internalise the self, while at the same time understanding and creating new pedagogies for your studies and future projects, as an enriching experience. The theory offers a space for reflection and understanding, of course for professionals in the clinical psychoanalytical field and for future psychoanalysts to become aware of the manifestations of “Metapsychoanalysis”, innovate your perspective, and support the courage to break paradigms within an academic and literary perspective.
